GENERAL PRICE LIST

PROFESSIONAL SERVICES

Basic Services of Funeral Director and Staff - $1,200

Our fee for the basic services of Funeral Director and Staff includes, but is not limited to:

• 24-hour availability to respond to initial request for service;
• Arrangement Conference with family and/or other responsible parties;
• Coordinating Funeral, Memorial, Graveside or any other type of service requested;
• Preparation and filing of death certificates.

• Preparation and filing of necessary authorizations, insurance, permits, social security forms and certain v.a. related forms.
• Maintenance of the facility, equipment, inventory, insurance, government compliance and administration expenses.

PREPARATION OF THE DECEASED

Embalming - $800
Except in certain special cases, embalming is not required by law. However, our funeral home does require embalming for any funeral service, cremation service and/or visitation with public viewing. If you do not want embalming, you usually have the right to choose an arrangement that does not require you to pay for it such as direct cremation, immediate burial and closed casket visitations.

Other Preparation of the Deceased:

• Handling, Dressing, Cosmetic Application, Placement in Casket or Container: - $150
• Bathing, Dressing, Placement in Casket or Container (Un-embalmed) - $200
• Special care for autopsied remains - $200
• Minimum Preparation for Identification Process Associated with Cremation - $75 *Identification Viewing is a MAXIMUM of 20 minutes and is for immediate family only.
• Refrigeration (per week) - $500 This fee will be imposed if arrangements aren't made in a timely
• manner.

ADDITIONAL SERVICES AND FACILITY FEES

Visitation fee (per day) - $300

This includes use of visitation room, set up of visitation, display of floral arrangements and supervision by the staff.

Visitation fee (same day) - $175

This includes use of visitation room, set up of visitation, display of floral arrangements and supervision by the staff prior to the service with a maximum of two (2) hours.

Funeral Service at Funeral Home Chapel - $400

This includes use of facilities for Chapel service, supervision and coordination of service by staff

Funeral Service at other Facility - $400
This includes supervision and coordination of service by staff and equipment for service when held at other facility.

Memorial Service at Funeral Home Chapel or other Facilty - $400

This includes use of facilities for Chapel service, supervision and coordination of service by staff and equipment for service when held at other facility.

Graveside Service - $300
This includes supervision and coordination of service by staff at the Graveside ONLY.

Crematory Fee - $400

Use of Religious Room - $125

This includes use of room for special care of deceased such as Ritual Bathing and/or dressing of the deceased by a group or committee.

Handling and Mailing Fee (Cremated Remains) - $30

(Cremated remains will be in a TEMPORARY MAILER)

Handling and Mailing Fee (Cremated Remains in an urn) - $30 + postal charge

TRANSPORTATION AND AUTOMOTIVE EXPENSES

All basic transportation is within a 35 mile radius only. Additional mileage will be charged at the rate of $2.50 per mile.

Transfer of Remains to Funeral Home - $300
Funeral Coach - $300

Flower Vehicle - $200

Service Car - $150

Family Vehicle (Limo, etc with minimum of 2 hours) - $125/hr

Each additional hour or portion of hour will be minimum of $100/hr

Non-local Airport transfers (Birmingham or Atlanta) - $525

OTHER MINIMUM SERVICES

Basic Cremation - $1,850
This includes: Transfer of remains to Funeral Home; reduced service
charge; crematory fee; and basic cardboard cremation container from
funeral home.

Basic Cremation w/alternative container provided by purchaser - $1,820
The container provided must meet all state and/or cematory requirements.

Forwarding of Remains to another Funeral Home - $1,920

This includes: Transfer of remains to Funeral Home; reduced service charge; embalming; and minimum shipping container. This does not include a visitation, funeral service prior to shipment, or transfer to airport.

Forwarding of Remains to another Funeral Home (with casket selected) - $2,035

This includes: Transfer of remains to Funeral Home; reduced service charge; embalming; dressing and casketing; and minimum shipping container. This does not include a visitation, funeral service prior to shipment, or transfer to airport.

Receiving of Remains from another Funeral Home - $1,300

This includes: Reduced service charge and transfer from non-local airport. This does not include a visitation or funeral service.

Immediate Burial - $1,670

This includes: Transfer of remains to Funeral Home; reduced service charge; dressing and casketing; and transfer to local cemetery. This does not include a visitation or funeral service.

If a vault is purchased from Southern Memorial, we will pay 1/2 of this fee up to a maximum of $150.

Air Transportation - $250 and UP

Mailing of Death certificates - $5

If death certificates are to be mailed, they must be mailed certified to ensure that they are received

City Police Escorts - $150

The city requires a minimum of 2 escorts per 20 cars. Anything above 20 cars requires an additional 1-2 escorts. The charge for escorts is $75 per escort.

Honorarium for Minister - $75

Honorarium for Pianoist or Singer - $60

Hairdresser fee - $50

BROWN SERVICE POLICY FUNERALS

As of November 1, 2009, Southern Memorial Funeral Home & Crematorium is no longer under contract with Brown Service Funeral Homes Company, Inc./Liberty National.

If any family chooses to use Brown Service burial policies with our facility, Brown Service will only provide the specified casket based on the individual policy.  No other merchandise or services will be covered by the policies.

Southern Memorial will give you a face value credit for your policies.

In order to receive your casket and face value credit, you must provide the policies or policy numbers prior to scheduling the service.
