Biography

Jeanne Stockner Brunschwyler, 84, died February 26, 2010. A native West Virginian and 53 year resident of Montgomery, AL, Jeanne is preceded in death by her husband, Richard Grant Brunschwyler. She is survived by her son Richard Grant Brunschwyler,Jr. (Pamela) of Davidson, NC, her daughter Camilla Brunschwyler Armstrong (Jerry) of Montgomery,AL, her granddaughters Emma Camilla Hayes Armstrong of Montgomery, AL and Emily Allison Buchy of Charlotte,NC, grandson Zachary Sinclair Freeman of Lexington, KY, two sisters, Mary Kate St. Clair of Charlottesville,VA and Carol Rae Schell of Nobleboro, ME, and her brother, James Robert Stockner of Naperville, Il.


A beloved wife and mother, Jeanne was also an active member and officer of many organizations including Magna Carta Dames, Colonial Dames, Daughters of the American Revolution, Daughters of the Confederacy, The Daffodil Garden Club, the League of Women Voters, and The Great Books Club of America. Through the years, Jeanne has served as a Girl and Cub Scout Leader, an Altar Guild Member of Westminster Presbyterian Church, on the Pastoral Care Committee of St. John's Episcopal Church, and as a member of the Daughters of the King. Jeanne especially enjoyed the lifelong friendships she established through her Sewing, Book, Supper, and Bridge Clubs. Jeanne was a graduate of Ohio State University with a BS in Journalism and member of Alpha Xi Delta Sorority.


The service will be held on Tuesday, March 2, at 2:00 PM at St.John's Episcopal Church with Reverend Robert Wisnewski officiating. A Visitation preceding the service will begin at 1:00 PM in the library of St John's Episcopal Church. Following the service Jeanne will be interred at Greenwood Cemetery beside her husband Richard. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St.John's Episcopal Church.
